Though she's toned down her costumery as of late, Katy Perry couldn't resist an ensemble with a statement for Monday night's 2013 Met Gala.
The 28-year-old arrived to the New York City event decked out in Dolce & Gabbana.
From her crown down to her ankle-strap shoes, Katy donned an entire look from Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana's Fall 2013 ready-to-wear collection.

Beautiful hand-sewn mosaic work covered the dress.
A queen adorned Katy's torso, as the thousands of tiny bugle beats, sequins and gold threading that composed her sparkled under the cameras' flashes.

She fixed a cross-encrusted crown atop her jet black hair, which was curled and teased in a 1940s fashion.
Wearing pale cake makeup, Katy's already fair complexion harkened to the punk theme of the evening as did her matte burgundy lipstick.
Huge cross chandelier earrings finished off the look, which accurately replicated the Dolce & Gabbana display they sent down the runway back in February.
Punk princess: Though her religious attire harkened to the Catholic Church, her pale makeup and deep burgundy lipstick was purely punk
From the runway: Dolce & Gabbana showed the same outfit on model Kasia Struss in its entirely back in February during Milan Fashion Week
The 47-year-old wore her usually short hair long down her back.
Her dress had a Renaissance resemblance, covering her whole body in grey tulle and leaving only her sharp collarbones exposed.
A delicate headband matched the careful beading around her neckline, and several sparkly rings accessorised her fingers.
Ravishing Renaissance: Supermodel Linda Evangelista wore a gown that looked as if she'd arrived straight from the 14th century
