The event attracted a slew of stars including Sarah Jessica Parker, Katy Perry, Beyoncé and Anne Hathaway.
The 40-year-old actress recently revealed that the couple's marriage, which has produced two children, has been through 'terrible times.'
She told Glamour UK magazine: 'It’s hard being married. You go through great times; you go through terrible times. We’re the same as any couple.
'I asked my dad once, "How did you and Mom stay married for 33 years?"' she added. 'And he said, "Well, we never wanted to get divorced at the same time."
'I think that’s what happens. When two people throw in the towel at the same time, then you break up, but if one person’s saying, "Come on, we can do this," you carry on.”
Gwyneth's appearance on Monday was a little more conservative than her famous Iron Man 3 dress, where she sported an Antonio Berardi design putting her sides, hips and derrière on full display thanks to sheer panelling.
The actress revealed that she only just averted disaster with the gown which left very little to the imagination.
'Well, let's just say everyone went scrambling for a razor,' she told Ellen DeGeneres during an appearance on her talk show. 'So I went from being the most beautiful to the most humiliated. In one day...I work a 70s vibe. You know what I mean?'
