‘Wow ....I was incredibly nervous and cold ha!’ Clarkson tweeted after the ceremony, before joking: ‘I just wanna officially thank President Obama for opening for me haha! Just kidding.’

Beyoncé also sang for the excited crowd at the special event, performing The Star Spangled Banner.The singer, who was joined by her rapper husband Jay-Z, made a grand entrance and looked incredible in her figure-hugging lacy black fishtail gown.
Beyoncé and Clarkson also took the opportunity to catch up during the jam-packed day and Clarkson couldn’t help but gush about how stunning Beyoncé looked.

She wrote a letter of praise for him ahead of last November's US presidential election, in which she credited him with inspiring the future generation, including her own daughter.
