The comedy sitcom won the top award at the SAG Awards Sunday night, pulling in the honour for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series.
The cast, including Ed O'Neill, Sofa Vergara, Jilie Bowen and Eric Stonestreet, was openly thrilled and gleefully took to the stage to accept the award.

Their behaviour certainly contrasted with that of two weeks ago at the Golden Globes when the ABC hit was beaten in the Best Comedy or Musical category by HBO's Girls.
Even funnier was cast member Vergara's comment on the photo.
She wrote: 'We loose this time.' It's unclear whether the Latina intentionally misspelled the word 'lose.'
Modern Family is one of the most critically acclaimed shows on air and has won dozens of television awards, including Emmys, Golden Globes and People Choice awards.
The series went into the SAG Awards with four nominations, including nods for male actor and female actor in a comedy series.
Before awards season, Vergara told People magazine 'The award is just going to the awards show.
'I never expected in my life that I was going to be part of a show like Modern Family and be nominated for anything. I'm very new to acting, so for me, it's a party.'
