Here comes the muscle man! Ryan Phillippe shows off his buff biceps and tattoos as he heads to the gym

He was once known for his baby-faced sweet looks
But months of gut-busting at the gym have transformed Ryan Phillippe into a Herculean dream boat.
The actor showed off the results of his workouts with another day at the gym in Los Angeles.

The 38-year-old Lincoln star was totally ripped from head to toe, and the white tank T-shirt plainly displayed his sculpted arms and muscular chest.
In addition to his buff biceps, Ryan exhibited his amazing tattoo collection which included roses and a phoenix rising from the ashes.
He had tattoos up and down his arms and on his leg and seemed quite proud of them too.
Wearing black shorts and grey trainers, Ryan's bulging calves would have made even Mr Olympus green with envy.

Ryan was alone on this day, and carried his cell phone, a red iPad and a grey sweat jacket while keeping his face partially covered by a black baseball cap.
Having recently wrapped the gritty drama Shreveport, the busy star is taking advantage of his down time at his favourite gym in Hollywood.
The father-of-three has two children with Reese Witherspoon, Ava,13, and Deacon, nine, and a 19-month-old daughter, Kailani, from a previous relationship to Alexis Knapp.
And although he's been dating 20-year-old college student Paulina Slagter since last year, she no doubt is deep in her studies at Loyola Marymount University.

 

His pet project: Ryan stars in the upcoming Shreveport, which he also wrote and directed and is currently in post production

Shreveport is a huge accomplishment for Ryan for not only does he star in it, but he wrote and directed the film as well.
The role required some physical knocks, and in one scene Ryan gets handcuffed and tied down to the floor while sporting an awful bloody wound on his forehead.
'I do love the idea of being writer-director,' Ryan recently told Aceshowbiz.com.
'These characters, the way they speak, this setting [are] really all out of the imagination of myself and my co-writer.

'I've been on the set of over 30 movies as an actor and in other ways, and this is one of the first where people walk around quoting lines all day.'
Ryan further added: 'They're just super into the content, and it makes it more fun for everybody.'
Shreveport revolves around a fading movie star who goes to the Louisiana city to make a low-budget film but finds himself kidnapped, held hostage and tortured.
The film, which has yet to be given a release date, also stars Russ Russo, Joyful Drake, Tig Notaro, Skipper Landry and James DuMont.
