He's a long way from Hollywood! Macaulay Culkin cuts a lonely figure as he leaves a Holiday Inn in Manchester

As young Kevin McCallister in Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, he stayed at The Plaza Hotel, but now as far from the bright lights of Hollywood, Macaulay Culkin is reduced to staying in budget Holiday Inns.
The actor and DJ - who was the first child star to be given $1 million for a movie role - was spotted leaving the Express Salford Quays on Monday morning, where he had been staying with friend and musician Adam Green.
Although he looked far healthier than he has done over the last few years, some witnesses compared him to a homeless man when they bumped into Macaulay, 32, a day earlier in London.

Student Marley Spindler met Culkin on one of the capital's streets, in the early hours, telling Radar Online: 'We chatted for about five minutes and he said he was in London seeing friends though he was vacant, speaking very quietly and mellow. He looked spaced out.'

 

'I didn’t recognize him at first — I thought it was some homeless guy who was scrounging a smoke.'
Leaving the Holiday Inn, Macaulay wore a grey jacket, faded jeans, a camouflage scarf and sunglasses with a cigarette perched between his lips.
He was clearly travelling light, as the outfit was exactly the same as the one he wore in Covent Garden days earlier.

Up north was next on Macaulay's trip, where he joined his musical friend who performed at The Ruby Lounge in Manchester on Sunday night.
No doubt the Richie Rich star jumped onstage to support Adam, as he did in Bristol last week.
At the Thekla, Culkin performed Beach Boys classic Kokomo on Wednesday, and according to Radar, the audience were rather impressed with his rendition.

Feeling good: Macaulay looked healthier than he has done in years

Wearing a red plaid shirt and tying his long blonde hair into a top knot, Macaulay reminded the crow what a showman he could be.
Coincidentally, his ex-girlfriend Mila Kunis is also in the UK, filming her latest film Jupiter Ascending with Channing Tatum.
However a friendly catch up between the two is unlikely now that Ashton Kutcher has joined his girlfriend at her Hampstead apartment.
