Zac Efron probably won't be shaking hands too firmly for a while.
The 25-year-old broke his hand recently while filming a punch up scene on his new flick Townies with co-star Dave Franco.
He still showed signs of injury as he visited Live With Kelly & Michael in New York on Thursday.
Wounded: Zac Efron dropped by Live With Kelly & Michael in New York on Thursday and described how he broke his right hand during a fight scene on Townies with co-star Dave Franco
As the actor described to a wide-eyed Kelly Ripa and guest host Carrie Ann Inaba, he actually broke a bone but doctors could not fit him with a cast immediately because he had to return to work.
'I broke it a couple days ago on set during filming, it was during a stage fight with Dave Franco,' Zac said.
Be gentle with him: The former star of High School Musical was still being very ginger with his right hand during his chat with Kelly Ripa and guest host Carrie Ann Inaba
What a guy: The blue-eyed actor posed for pictures and signed autographs even though his right hand was visibly swollen
'I don't know why I'm telling you this. My hand in theory is back to normal, it just looks really gross.'
Zac, who looked handsomely casual in blue button-down shirt and jeans, even showed the hosts how puffy his hand is.
Handsome in blue: The 25-year-old arrived to the Big Apple studio looking casual in blue checked button-down shirt, jeans and brown loafers
No handshakes yet please: Zac showed Kelly and Carrie how swollen his hand still is, calling it 'gross'
Man of mystery: The 17 Again star wore a pair of tinted sunglasses but later removed while chatting in front of the live audience
Later, the cast was replaced with heavy bandages.
Since the mishap Zac and Dave, 27 - who is the younger brother of actor James Franco - have been seen walking on set together, so obviously no hard feelings.
Meanwhile, the Hollywood hunk recently revealed he is currently single because he finds the dating process awkward and 'forced'.
Reflecting: The good-looking star has revealed previously that 'dating is hard' since his split from High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens
Banged up: Zac sported a cast on his right arm on the Townies set on April 12, and eventually switched to bandages
Zac hasn't had a serious girlfriend since the break-up of his three-year romance with High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens in 2010.
'Dating is kind of hard. Like dinner or something like that. Like a forced awkward situation is very strange,' Zac previously said on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show.
'Especially for me, for some reason. I like to go and do something adventurous. I like to go out and do some sort of crazy activity.'
Vanessa, meanwhile, has had no trouble moving on and is currently dating actor Austin Butler.
No hard feelings: It's been work as usual for Zac and Dave on the set of the comedy shooting in Los Angeles
