From Superman to superdad! Brandon Routh is the picture of a doting father as he takes baby Leo to lunch

He has been replaced as Superman by Henry Cavill in the new movie.
But Brandon Routh certainly didn't seem bothered as he headed out for a family lunch on Thursday - concentrating instead on playing superdad.
The 33-year-old was a doting father as he held Leo James tight for their day out in Los Angeles.

The hunky actor from 2006’s Superman Returns cradled the little one in his arms as they sat down to have lunch with his wife Courtney Ford.

Brandon protectively held the cute youngster, nine months, in the arms of his green top which came complete with a hood featuring ears.
The tot’s bright piece was teamed with navy blue wool trousers and a white hat, making him look even more adorable as he suck his thumb.

Meanwhile Brandon donned a grey T-shirt with a hooded top and black cap on his head, he paired it with casual blue jeans and trainers, a look similar to his spouse’s clothing.
The large-framed film star juggled a take-out drink in his hands while he let the mother of his child roam freely.
The only project Brandon appears to be involved with this year is the television programme Newsreaders where he played Miles Van Cleef in the Hedge Fun episode.

His part was in the second episode of the comedy’s first season which aired in January.
Superman gets a makeover in Man Of Steel – released June 14 in the United Kingdom – and Henry Cavill was the man selected for the part.
The British-born star plays Clarke Kent, a young journalist who is forced to confront his secret extraterrestrial heritage when Earth is invaded by members of his race.
