Strides ahead! Alessandra Ambrosio and Jessica Chastain prove that wearing trousers can be sexier than a skirt

The scene was a pre-Oscars gifting suite, the stars were Alessandra Ambrosio and Jessica Chastain.
And between them, these two polar opposites of the celebrity world - underwear model and Oscar-nominated actress - showed lesser beings just how sexy a good pair of trousers can be.
Chastain, 35, looked impeccable in a stunningly chic outfit comprising of black trousers, fuchsia and black floral shirt and patent pumps.

Meanwhile, 31-year-old Alessandra opted for trousers styled in a rockier fashion.
She slipped into monochrome white and black jeans, black top, leather jacket and a pair of sexy black ankle boots.
Jessica - who is nominated for Best Actress at Sunday's Academy Awards - maintained a low profile as she took in the event at the W Hotel in Hollywood.

The Zero Dark Thirty star said during the TimesTalks interview that although she relished playing women 'we don't normally see on film,' she did enjoy playing the role of the temptress.
'It's more fun to play a bombshell because people treat you better,' she said, laughing. 'The crew is very interested in everything you have to do.'
The actress was nominated for her first Oscar in 2012 for her role as a Marilyn Monroe-esque character in the surprise hit The Help.
