New playmate: Jennifer Garner treated daughter Violet, seven, to a new doll from American Girl and an Italian lunch to go on Tuesday
Jennifer also generously bought clothes and other accessories for Violet's newest friend.
The pair were in fact having so much fun shopping at the girl-friendly shop that lunchtime came around awfully fast.
Chic: Violet's new doll sported a cool blue frock and brown boots and Jennifer's red shopping bag presumably held more accessories
Violet's mini-me: Jennifer's little girl sported a braid just like her new doll's
Think pink: The second-grader looked so cute in her pink jacket and yellow frock matched with pink trainers
Jennifer and Violet were so thirsty after their spree that they couldn't resist sipping on their cold drinks on the way to the valet park.
Violet looked so cute in her fuchsia cardigan and yellow pinafore dress, which were matched with comfy pink, grey and white Velcro-strap trainers.
Looking good! Jennifer showed off her slim figure in skinny jeans and a fitted blaser
Hands full: The 41-year-old actress balanced a pizza and her large American Girl shopping bag while taking a sip of her cool drink
Just like mommy: Violet played parent to her new doll, just as her mother Jennifer does with her
Violet sported tinted spectacles and seemed anxious to get home so she could re-style her pretty, petite pal in her new dresses and things.
Jennifer, who is on a break from shooting her new movie, looked classy and casual in jeans, white top and grey blazer, which she paired with beige suede ankle boots.
The star has been on location in Ohio filming Draft Day which tells the story of a manager of an American football team who fights to acquire the number one draft pick.
In sync: The mother-daughter duo took sips of their drinks at the same time
Lots of friends: Violet carried a bagful of her dolls on a school show and tell in March
The A-lister put her career on hold while Ben purses his creative passions - including directing Academy Award winning Argo.
However, the star recently told The Telegraph summer was her time to get back in front of the camera.
'I definitely work less because Ben is so busy but we have three kids, that's just part of the deal. I want to be a mum,' Jennifer revealed.
'Ben's always saying, ''You need to work, it's a part of you and you're a different person when you're working.'' I've reserved this summer [for work]. It's mine.'
Taking turns: Jennifer was later seen taking her son Samuel and daughter Seraphina out in Brentwood, CA
Sweet tooth: Samuel enjoyed a lollipop as he rested in his mother's arms
Boston pride: The youngster represented his father Ben Affleck's hometown by sporting a Boston Red Sox baseball cap
